At approximately 2245hrs strong storms began to hit the metro area.  Shortly after that, 2255hrs, Company 14 was alerted for the house fire in the area of Jefferson St and 35th Pl.  Truck 14, Rescue Squad 14, and Chief 14B [Fabrizio] made their way through heavy rain and streets blocked by wires and trees to arrive on scene.  Initial crews found a two story single family dwelling with smoke showing.  The fire was located in a top floor bedroom.  Truck 14 reported to the second floor and assisted units with checking for extension.  The Rescue Squad and Chief 14B were released from the fire ground to respond for a building collapse in Riverdale.  Truck 14 was ready a short time later.
