At 1635 hours, Truck 14 (TK814) and Rescue Squad 14 (SQ814) were alerted to the 8900 block of 59th Avenue in Berwyn Heights for the house fire.  Truck 14 with five volunteers arrived on scene with smoke showing from a one-story dwelling.  Under heavy smoke conditions, the truck located a fire in a bedroom that was extending to the hallway.  The units from 14 conducted the primary search, vented vertically and horizontally, and knocked down the bulk of the fire with a water can.  The fire was quickly placed under control and Company 14 was held to overhaul.  The truck and squad were ready at 1803 hours.
