At 1919 hours, Truck 14 as the first-due truck and Chief 14A (McCoy) were alerted to the 7 court of Research Road for the apartment fire.  The first unit on scene reported fire showing from the second floor.

Truck 14 with four volunteers was the first arriving special service and went to work.  The truck crew searched, ventilated, and checked for extension.  Chief 14A arrived and established command.  Rescue Squad 14, who responded on a personal injury accident just prior to the dispatch of the fire, was added to the call after clearing the accident.  The squad arrived with eight volunteers, checked exposure apartments for extension, and assisted EMS with a burn patient.

The fire was quickly placed under control and the assignment was scaled back within 20 minutes.  One patient was transported to the hospital for burns.  Truck 14 cleared at 2048 hours.
