Apartment Fire 14800blk Bowie Rd 17 February 2008
At around 1300 hours, units from Laurel and the surrounding area were dispatched for the apartment fire in 14800 block of Bowie Road. Upon arrival, they found heavy fire showing from a garden apartment and the second alarm was quickly sounded.
At 1314 hours, Truck 14, Chief 14 (Fusco), and Chief 14B (Kitchen) responded on the second alarm to Laurel. While enroute, Command ordered all units to evacuate the building. Truck 14 arrived as the first due truck on the second alarm and positioned in the courtyard on side charlie. Chief 14 arrived and assisted at the command post.
Truck 14 operated the ladder pipe and handlines for an extended period of time to suppress the heavy volume of fire. In total, three alarms were sounded and fire spread to three apartment buildings.
Truck 14 cleared the scene at 1748 hours.
