At 0420 hours, Rescue Squad 14 and Chief 14 (Fusco) responded to northbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway at Greenbelt Road for the personal injury accident.  While units were enroute, U.S. Park Police advised they were on scene at the correct location of northbound BW Parkway south of NASA, and they had one trapped.

Rescue Squad 14 with 5 volunteers arrived and sized up the scene.  They found a car off the road, resting on its side against a tree with one trapped.  The squad crew immediately started stabilizing the car with rescue struts, ratchet straps, and the squad's front mounted winch.  Once stabilized, the windshield was cut and the roof removed to provide patient access.

Extrication was completed quickly and Rescue Squad 14 was ready for service at 0452 hours.
