Just after pulling into quarters at 0500 hours from the extrication on the BW Parkway at NASA, Rescue Squad 14 was alerted as the second rescue squad to University Boulevard and West Park Drive for the personal injury accident.  Engine 341, Chief 34A, PA 44 and Rescue Squad 1 were on the scene with a car heavily entangled in trees and brush with one trapped.

Rescue Squad 14 with 6 volunteers arrived on scene and Command advised the squad to work with units on the scene to free the victim as quickly as possible.  The squad crew stretched multiple hydraulic lines and tools through the thick brush to reach the car.  Additionally, a tripod light was quickly setup in the woods to provide scene lighting.  Next, the squad crew removed doors, cut all posts, and removed the roof.

With patient access available, the driver was removed on a backboard and secured into a stokes basket for transportation out of the woods.

Rescue Squad 14 was ready for service at 0535 hours.
