Company 11 (Branchville) was dispatched to a personal injury accident in the 9500 block of Rhode Island Avenue with reports of two vehicles involved.  Upon their arrival, they reported two people trapped with six patients total, and Chief 11 (Bailey) established Command.

Rescue Squad 14, Chief 14 (Fusco), and Chief 14B (Kitchen) were alerted at 2159 hours and arrived minutes later with 10 volunteers.  The squad crew found a car wrapped around a utility pole on the driver’s side with one trapped.  Stabilization of the car was quickly completed, the roof was removed, and spreaders were used to push against the B-post and seat to free the patient’s foot and leg.

The occupant was removed and transported to a local trauma center.  Company 14 was ready for service at 2230 hours.
