Truck 14 & Squad 14
At 1701 hours as Truck 14 was clearing a first due gas leak, Squad 14 was added to the 2600 block of Chillum Rd. Multiple engines, ambulances and a rescue squad were already operating on scene of a pick up truck that had collided with a 15 passenger van. Including an auto fire, multiple people ejected, and multiple people trapped, the Rescue Squad and Truck 14 assisted in further extrication of victims from the van, as well as, coordinating and transporting multiple priority victims into The District of Columbia’s trauma center. Additionally 2 helicopters were requested to assist in transporting the victims. In Total there were 11 transport units, 2 helicopters, 5 Engine Companies, 3 of which were medic engines, 2 Ladder Trucks and 3 Rescue Squads, as well as, the mass casualty bus and multiple Chief Officers from both Prince George’s County and Montgomery County.
Company 14 was ready for service at 1938 hours.
