Stolen Ambulance Crashes Pinning Two
At 1753 hours Company 14 was alerted to reports of a vehicle accident with people trapped at Greenbelt Rd and 62nd Avenue in our first due.
Units arrived on scene to find numerous police had been following a stolen ambulance from a neighboring station. The ambulance was stolen while the ambulance crew was attempting to assist a motorist that had driven off of the Capital Beltway.
The suspect made it to the intersection before colliding with several vehicles and coming to rest in the parking lot of Beltway Plaza.
Company 14 found 1 pt was trapped inside a vehicle while the suspect was trapped inside the ambulance.
Company 14 extricated the patient and then proceeded to assist the police with the removal of the suspect.
The ambulance crew was not injured during the series of events. Company 14 was ready for service at 1913 hours.
