Busy 24 Hours For Your BHVFD Volunteers
On the morning of 02/28 Rescue Squad and Ambulance 14 were dispatched to Kenilworth Ave & Pontiac St for the vehicle accident with entrapment. Communications received reports of a vehicle overturned and on fire with a person trapped. The Rescue Squad and ambulance arrived to find one overturned with one trapped but no fire. The Rescue Squad stabilized the vehicle, and, after assessment by EMS, the crews assisted the uninjured patient from the vehicle.
Later in the morning, Truck 14 and surrounding units were dispatched to the area of Cherrywood Ln and Breezewood Dr for the building on fire. Units found a well involved commercial dumpster adjacent to the rear of the Beltway Plaza. Units quickly brought the fire under control with minimal extension to the building.
Just before 0400 hours on 03/01, Rescue Squad 14B responded to the Outer-Loop of the Capital Beltway in the area of Baltimore Ave for the personal injury accident. While en route, the call was upgraded to an accident with entrapment. The Rescue Squad arrived on the scene, stabilized the vehicle and performed a rapid extrication of a single patient. The company was ready for service by 0445.
