Busy Day for Truck and Rescue Squad
At 1754 hours on October 3rd, Truck and Rescue Squad 14 responded to the 7500 block of Burdette Way for the townhouse on fire.
Units from Beltsville arrived to find a 2 story middle of the group townhouse with smoke showing.
Truck 14, second due, assisted with the search of the structure, laddered the house and ventilated. Rescue Squad 14, third due, was assigned RIT and assisted with laddering the building and opening up from the exterior.
The fire on the 2nd floor was quickly brought under control and Company 14 was ready for service at 1831 hours.
As Truck and Rescue Squad 14 were picking up, PSCC added them to a collapse investigation in the first due. Ambulance 14 arrived in the 5500 block of Cherrywood Lane to find a single vehicle had driven through a storefront injuring multiple patrons of nail salon.
The ambulance crew immediately began triaging patients and requested additional transport units. Upon arrival, Rescue Squad 14 was assigned the Technical Rescue Group and conducted a survey of the building to assess any structural damage.
No serious damage was noted and once all patients were transported, Truck and Rescue Squad 14 returned to service at 1902 hours.
