Feb 20th- Truck 14 (using a County Reserve) & its volunteer crew were dispatched as the first due truck to the 8500 block of Greenbelt Rd in Lanham for the Apartment fire. Units went on scene with fire showing from a first-floor apartment. Chief 14-A established command and Truck 14s interior crew searched the fire apartment while opening up for the engine company. The exterior crew laddered the building and rescued 5 civilians off the balcony of their 2nd-floor apartment. The fire was held to the apartment of origin. Truck 14 operated for just under 2 hours before returning to service.
