August 4th- At 1832 hours, Rescue Squad 14 was dispatched for a personal injury accident involving and tractor trailer and a single passenger vehicle on the inner loop of I-495 after the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. While en route, PSC advised they were receiving multiple calls for an over turned tractor trailer, now on fire, with the driver trapped inside. With this update Battalion Chief 4 requested additional tankers, foam units, and County Haz-Mat be added to the call. The Squad officer requested Ambulance 14 be added to the call to supplement the manpower of the Rescue Squad. Squad 14 was first arriving, and confirmed one patient trapped in the over-turned tractor trailer. The volunteer crew removed the passenger side door and extricated the patient from within the cab. The Squad remained on scene for 45 minutes to assist with other units before returning to service.
