PGCVFRA Convention Awards
On the evening of September 18th, some of our members attended the Prince Georges County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association Awards Dinner that is part of the Convention every year. The Berywn Heights Volunteer Fire Department is proud to recognize and congratulate two of our members on earning the following awards:
The Joseph A. Chaney Fire Prevention Award
FF/EMT Kyle Snyder was awarded the Joseph A. Chaney Fire Prevention Award. Kyle has consistently worked with the Town of Berwyn Heights over the last year to coordinate the incorporation of fire safety education into community events. Kyle also won the department recognition at the State Convention for his outstanding work with fire prevention.
The Volunteer EMS Captain George H. Lindell Award for EMS Excellence
FF/EMT Jaime Simpson was awarded the Volunteer EMS Captain George H. Lindell Award for EMS Excellence. Jaime spent countless hours redeveloping the Volunteer Paramedic Program and teaching the ALS Assist class required for BLS providers to drive a Paramedic Ambulance. This enable numerous departments, including our own, to provide Volunteer ALS service to the community.
