At 2022 hours Truck 14 and surrounding units were dispatched to 9014 Rhode Island Ave for the apartment fire. Company 11 arrived on scene and reported fire showing from a 5th-floor balcony. Truck 14, first due, positioned on the A/B corner to cover multiple sides of the building, including the fire apartment. The crew forced entry into the apartment where they found a fire contained to the balcony which they extinguished with a water can. The company was ready for service shortly before 2100 hours.
