Jan 1st: At around 1200 hrs Ladder Truck 14 and surrounding units were alerted to a reported house fire in the 11300Blk of Montgomery Rd in Beltsville. While en route, Communications advised they were upgrading the assignments after getting reports of people trapped in the house/ Engine 31 (Beltsville) arrived to find heavy fire showing from the basement and requested the Working Fire Dispatch. Truck 14 and its volunteer crew arrived as 1st due Special and began conducting searches. Onscene units found multiple victims burned and requested additional EMS units, which also brought Ambulance 14 to the scene. An adult female was found deceased in the basement. The Truck crew worked to vent the roof, check for extension, and overhauling the structure. Truck 14 operated for approximately 4 hours before returning to service.

The fire is under investigation by the Prince George’s County Fire Marshall’s office.
